關於我們．．．

The purpose of this group is to develop Chinese language-based activities in the Washington area. Our group welcomes Chinese speakers from all backgrounds, including native and non-native speakers. Our events include people from all nationalities and ethnic backgrounds who speak Chinese, reflecting the international flavor of the Washington DC Metropolitan area.

華語基礎
Because nearly all other Meetups are in English, and we are the ONLY Chinese language Meetup in Washington DC, we expect people to speak mostly Mandarin at our events.
因爲幾乎所 有的Meetups都是英 語爲主,而且 我們是 華盛頓DC 唯一的中文 Meetup, 我們特別鼓 勵大家多用 中國話在我 們的活動. If you do not currently speak Chinese: we refer you to complete Chinese courses so that you could participate in Mandarin at our Meetups. Once you reach the Intermediate course level, you will be able to have a conversation in Chinese.

我們歡迎新來客.如果你第一次參加,請過來找我們的助理,自我介紹一下! If you're coming to an event for the first time, please just come and introduce yourself to one of the Assistant Organizers when you arrive. Then we can introduce you to others in the group.

中文水平
Some events are geared for those at a specific level of Chinese (ie Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced-Fluent). Other events are for all-levels. This will be indicated in the event announcement.

禁忌話題
This is a NON political group! We will not tolerate criticizing Taiwan, mainland, or U.S. politics or policies.
We also do not allow using group events or activities to promote marketing or selling to our members. Proselytizing, soliciting, and betting are not allowed.

會員費
There is no cost to become a member but a small dues payment per person at each event to support the continuity of this Meetup. The revenues first cover the ongoing fee we pay to Meetup.com for using this Web site, purchasing event supplies such as name badges and signs, products such as paper goods and food, and similar items for future events. The dues collected at an event are not intended to exactly cover the costs of that particular event, but rather the ongoing expenses of running current and future group activities.

交通
We encourage people to carpool and ride share to our events. If you can offer a ride to any event, or need a ride, please leave comments in your RSVP with your location when you RSVP for an event.

RSVP政策/活動報名
Please follow the RSVP system. Only RSVP for an event if you will attend. Do not attend an event unless you have posted Yes or Maybe RSVP.

When a member RSVP Yes but doesn't attend, or drops in without RSVP this is disrespectful to the organizers. If your plans change, even on the day of the event, the considerate thing to do is to change your RSVP status from "Yes" to "No" so we won't be expecting you.

This is a club for making friends with people of similar interests. To maintain your membership we require a profile that introduces you.

• Your name on your profile. Please do not use initials or Internet nicknames.
  
• At least one Photo in your profile in which you are recognizable. Does not have to be main photo.
  
• Completed basic profile questions that introduces your interests in this group.
