This Meetup is intended for the Beginner in Mandarin Chinese who can hold a basic conversation. Best if you know at least 100 words. Speak mostly in Mandarin. A no-pressure, friendly environment to practice speaking!

Goal: Practice, learn and teach. Make it a rigorous mental workout, contribute to your language partner's experience.

Theme: JOB. Talk about your job, describe what you do, what you like, what you don't like. Get excited about your career!

Bring: On an index card, write your job in Chinese characters to show your partners. Pictures, visual aids may help make the conversation interesting. Books, dictionary.

Thank you, Richard, for bringing all the reusable namebadges for those who have not made their own. Your generosity is very much appreciated!

Jon, suggestions welcomed. Large groups have certain requirements by the location. Restaurants require food purchases. Teaism doesn't charge for the reserved space each month, modest costs for food. Transportation access, parking. National Park Service requires $65. fee for gatherings of over 25 people. Over the years we've tried alot of different locations and found Teaism the most accommodating. However, if you or anyone has suggestions, please let me know. See you Sunday!

I LOVE practicing my Mandarin at these meetups, and everyone is always so nice and helpful. I just wish we could meet somewhere else- I don't think Teaism is such a good place for the meetups.
