Introduction
I joined this group simply to meet other Chinese speakers, practice my Chinese, enjoy Chinese culture, and reminise about China.
What are your favorite Chinese dishes and foods?
All kinds of Jiaozi, Gongbao Jiding, Baozi, Mantou, and Yuebing.
How would you describe your level of Chinese? (Eg it's my native language OR I don't speak it OR I learned some dialect from my family but little Mandarin, OR I can speak a few words, simple conversations, etc.)
I have taken Chinese for 1.5 years, but lived and studied in Beijing and Yantai (Shandong Province) for 6 months. I'm above the advanced level at American University (although I just came back from studying in Germany so I am rusty).
What kind of events and activities would you be interested in? What would you like to do at our events?

Improving my spoken Chinese with native speakers and bonding over Chinese food and culture with others.
Where did you grow up? How did you learn Chinese? Tell us your story.
I grew up learning German and being obsessed with German culture and then decided to take Chinese after studying world politics and realizing how vital China is to US interests. I immediately fell in love with the language, culture and people.

The group is very diverse, including college students, government employees, professors, native Chinese speakers, and many more. It really is a great place to practice speaking Chinese as well as meeting new people. I will be coming to lots of meetups in the future.
