What are your favorite Chinese dishes and foods?
Dumplings made from scratch, dim sum, shaved noodles, hot pot, seafood clay pots, and mapo tofu.
How would you describe your level of Chinese? (Eg it's my native language OR I don't speak it OR I learned some dialect from my family but little Mandarin, OR I can speak a few words, simple conversations, etc.)
I can hold simple conversations about the weather, order food, or ask for directions, but have very basic vocabulary to hold deeper conversations.
What kind of events and activities would you be interested in? What would you like to do at our events?
Social events that involves drinks, foods, and opportunity to speak Mandarin.
What could this group provide for you that no other Meetup could?
The opportunity to practice Chinese, which I won't be able to do with other Meetup groups.
Where did you grow up? How did you learn Chinese? Tell us your story.
I was born in Taiwan, grew up in San Francisco, lived in Philadelphia for 3+ years and just recently moved to DC. I grew up bilingual, but by no means fluent. I would like to become more fluent.
