Our new partners AsianinNY.com are hosting an awesome event!

AsianinNY.com, New York’s leader in Asian networking and a multi-cultural sharing site, will host a Harvest Moon Festival event on Oct 9th 2009 from 7pm to 10pm at Bennett Media Studio to raise funds for Typhoon Morakot victims. On August 8th, 2009, Taiwan suffered from Typhoon Morakot, which caused the loss of hundreds of lives and millions of dollars in damages. The Moon Festival Event will be a dedication of the friends and families whose lives have been altered by this tragedy, and a celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Two months before, we learned 李白 《静夜思》together, and I received very good feedbacks, so in order for everyone to learn more about Chinese literature, especially Tang poems, I will continue teaching another VERY FAMOUS poems next Monday --- 王维 《相思》---- Do you know what RED BEAN symbolizes in Chinese culture? Do you know what it means if someone gives you a RED BEAN as a gift? These subtle meanings is the essence of Chinese culture, so come out and let's TASTE the wonderful poem from 王维 together next Monday!

We and anybody attending Mandarin Mondays through ConnectionZ Promotions have the whole place to ourselves! Capacity is about 150, which means that we will fill every square centimeter of this venue!

This party was just waiting to happen..and by popular demand (see reasons below):

1) Many native speakers want to make American friends
2) Many American friends want opportunities practice Mandarin Chinese in a relaxed setting
3) There has never been a large scale bridge-building weekly party celebrating Chinese language and culture

We have unlimited potential to grow the party and make a mark on nightlife history as one of the best after-work cultural parties. Our group is definitely the foundation of the party, with such a diverse mix of native speakers, American born-Chinese, and people learning Mandarin Chinese.
We will brand this party so that it will grow and attract people locally and from all over the world, tourists and visitors who are here in-town on Mondays. I will be doing outreach to Chinese organizations, groups and communities, as well as to language schools, your help in spreading the word (if you're excited about the party =)) will be appreciated!

The most traditional Chinese Festival --- Mid-Autumn Festival ( Mooncake festival) is coming within one week (the festival is officially 3rd, Oct, 2009 this year), so Mandarin Monday will celebrate the important Festival with all of our members one day before (next Friday)!!! Come out, watch the VERY round moon ( the moon is suppose to be the roundest that day in the whole year), enjoy the mooncake ( yes, we will order 4 different flavors of mooncakes!!), make friends and HAVE FUN!!!
