What better way is there to spend five hours on a lazy Saturday afternoon than melting away the stress by belting out some Chinese tunes? Whether you're into the mellow beats of Zhang Zhen Yue, the pomp and circumstance of Zhang Xue You or Liu De Hua, the relaxing voice of Zhou Hua Jian, the Cranberries-esque voice of Wang Fei, or the range of the voice of the lead singer of Wu Yue Tian...Chinese karaoke has something for everyone.

Ren Ren is a great place, if you haven't been there before. Well-sized rooms. No primitive "ge benr." Ren Ren has the "ge benr" all computerized for convenience. Songs are pretty up-to-date, as well.

Happy hour in the afternoon runs $15 per person for the whole time, plus tax & tip. Happy hour starts at 3:00pm and lasts until 8:00pm I called to confirm the time.

Nothing is more fun...or more tiring than four-and-a-half hours of karaoke. Ren Ren is a great venue. I'm glad Heidi posted the event for the SD-Canto group. Seven people total. We had a great mix of Cantonese hits and Mandarin classics. Oddly enough, not one person sang a song by Liu De Hua....my first time at karaoke when noone sang him. Four of us had dinner at Spicy City when we were all sung-out. I love the boiled fish in spicy sauce, and the leftovers were quite delicious today for lunch.
